A growing chain of Italian dining spots and pizza places is going to be opening one of their upscale eateries in downtown Boston.
According to the Boston Globe, Salvatore's Restaurant is planning on opening on Washington Street, about a block east of Boston Common and a couple of blocks north of Boylston and Essex Streets. The article does not give specific information on when the new restaurant will be opening, but shows it on a map as being just north of BiNA Osteria, which is at 581 Washington Street. [March 14, 2011 update: According to EveryBlock Boston, the address for the new Salvatore's will be 545 Washington Street.]
Salvatore's is a small group of upscale Italian restaurants that is part of the Sal's Pizza chain. Other locations of Salvatore's can be found in the Seaport District of Boston and along the Merrimack River in Lawrence, with a third location opening soon just outside of Medford Square. [March 14, 2011 update: Salvatore's in Medford is now open.] The dining spot features both Northern and Southern Italian dishes such as risotto, veal valdostana, lobster ravioli, pork chops and vinegar peppers, haddock florentine, and linguine with meatballs. In addition to Salvatore's and Sal's Pizza, the restaurant group also includes Mary's Pasta and Sandwiches.
