A new family-friendly restaurant is coming to Marblehead, moving into the space where an Indian dining spot used to be.
According to the Marblehead Reporter and Wicked Local, Hungry Betty's Bar & Grill is planning to open on the second floor of the Village Plaza on Pleasant Street where Zaika used to be until closing in the spring of 2009. The article mentions that the person behind Hungry Betty's Bar & Grill has been in charge of the kitchen at the Dolphin Yacht Club, which is at Allerton Place on Marblehead Harbor. The upcoming restaurant has received a common-victualler license as well as a liquor license, and should be opening soon, according to the article.
In addition to Zaika, the space that Hungry Betty's Bar & Grill is moving into was also home to Rinaldo's Restaurant, which closed about five years ago.
[March 4, 2011 update: According to both North Shore Dish and the restaurant's Facebook page, Hungry Betty's is now open for business.]
The address for this new restaurant in Marblehead is: Hungry Betty's Bar & Grill, 161 Pleasant Street, Marblehead, MA, 01945. Their website is at http://hungrybettys.com/
