Last spring, we reported that a chain of high-end steakhouses was looking to open a new restaurant at a newly created complex along the Boston waterfront. Now, it looks like three other dining spots will be moving into the skyscraper as well.
According to The Boston Globe, Smith & Wollensky will be behind one of four restaurants moving into the Atlantic Wharf complex, which is located between the Rose Kennedy Greenway and Fort Point Channel by Congress Street, about a block north of South Station. Earlier we had mentioned that the new eatery from Smith & Wollensky may be a branch of Wollensky's Grill, a new, lower-priced concept from the restaurant group, but the article makes no mention of this, simply stating that Smith & Wollensky will be coming to the space (keep checking back for updates on this). The Globe article also mentions that the current Smith & Wollensky location at 101 Arlington Street in "The Castle" will remain in operation.
The other three restaurants that are coming to Atlantic Wharf (which is on the site formerly known as Russia Wharf) will include a coffee shop that may be run by the people behind Charlestown's Sorelle, as well as a fine-dining restaurant. The Globe states that at least one of the restaurants (perhaps the fine dining spot?) will have a celebrity chef behind it.
