Hungry Mother in Cambridge Wins Munch Madness 2011

An annual restaurant "tournament" created by The Boston Globe has just wrapped up, with a Cambridge eatery winning this year.

According to the Globe, Hungry Mother on Cardinal Medeiros Avenue in the Kendall Square section of the city is the winner of Munch Madness 2011, defeating East Coast Grill (last year's winner), another Cambridge dining spot that is located on Cambridge Street in Inman Square. Hungry Mother had defeated Ten Tables in Jamaica Plain/Cambridge to make the finals, while East Coast Grill had beaten another Cambridge restaurant, Craigie on Main.

A total of 64 restaurants took part in Munch Madness 2011, with a few top spots not making it out of the first round, including o ya near South Station, Sorellina and Clio, both in the Back Bay, Menton in the Fort Point district, and Gargoyles in Somerville.
