A Nepalese restaurant in Allston has closed its doors, and it looks like a dining spot featuring Asian fare will be moving into its space.
According to one of our spotters on the Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook page, Mt. Everest Kitchen on Brighton Avenue is shuttered, and a sign indicates that O Yummy Cuisine will be opening in the space. The poster also mentions that O Yummy Cuisine will be a Chinese and Japanese restaurant, based on the sign out front. No specific opening date appears to be available at this point in time for the new eatery.
[February 3, 2012 update: According to a poster on Chowhound (and confirmed by the restaurant's website at http://www.oyummycuisine.com/), O Yummy Cuisine is now open.]
Mt. Everest Kitchen first opened in 2007, and was one of several spots in the Boston area to serve Nepalese food, including Yak and Yeti in Somerville's Ball Square, Martsa on Elm in Davis Square, Kathmandu Spice in East Arlington, and Annapurna in North Cambridge. Another Nepalese restaurant (Masala) is due to open in Somerville's Teele Square soon.
The address for the now-closed Mt. Everest Kitchen and new O Yummy Cuisine is 182 Brighton Avenue, Allston, MA, 02134.
