A culinary event that centers around the updating of traditional Jewish recipes is returning to Boston this month, and once again, a number of local chefs will be participating.
According to the New Center For Arts & Culture website, Beyond Bubbie's Kitchen will be held on Sunday, October 23 at WGBH in Brighton (at the corner of Market Street and Guest Street, just south of Soldiers Field Road). Guests will be able to sample foods made by chefs from such restaurants as Area Four in Cambridge, Foundry on Elm in Somerville, The Fireplace in Brookline, Grill 23 in Boston, the Russell House Tavern in Cambridge, Woodward at the AMES in Boston, and several others. A few of the dishes offered will include updated takes on borscht, kishka, knishes, latkes, and rugelah.
Tickets to Beyond Bubbie's Kitchen, which starts at 5:00 PM, cost $72 for adults ($36 for young adults).
