An event that features chili, pulled pork, and more is coming to a ski area in the central part of Massachusetts later this month.
According to the Wachusett Mountain website, the 2nd annual Great New England BBQFest is going to be held on the weekend of October 22-23, with hours being 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day. The event will feature some of the region's top barbecue vendors, along with an oyster shucking contest, a pig roast, a beer tent, a farmers' market, live music, and children's activities.
Ticket prices range from $8 for admission only (purchased in advance) to $90 for a "Festival 4 Pack," which includes 4 admission tickets, 4 SkyRide Plus, and 4 $10 Food Coupons for the cafe. The admission price for children between 6 and 12 years old is $4 if purchased in advance. Proceeds from the event benefit the Greg Hill Foundation, whose mission is to respond to the immediate needs of families touched by tragedy. (Greg Hill is the morning radio host on WAAF.)
The 2011 Great New England BBQFest will take place rain or shine.
