Red-Eyed Pig Is Opening in West Roxbury

It looks like a new restaurant featuring BBQ and Southern-style food is coming to West Roxbury.

According to the Facebook page of the Blue-Eyed Crab in Plymouth, the Red-Eyed Pig is planning to open on Centre Street at the end of November, taking over the space where Fresh Catch used to be (a short distance west of the West Roxbury Parkway). Based on a wall photo within the Facebook page, the Red-Eyed Pig will focus on "downhome," "Southern," and "BBQ" dishes, though no specific menu items have been mentioned as of yet. This will be the second restaurant from the people behind the Blue-Eyed Crab, a seafood spot on Water Street along the Plymouth waterfront that first opened in 2007.

[December 9 update: According to their Facebook page, the Red-Eyed Pig is opening tonight. Also, an article on the Eater Boston site mentions that the new restaurant will feature such items as a crispy smoked pork belly sandwich, fennel and hot pepper sausage, smoked chicken, St. Louis style ribs, and pork belly "donuts," along with pulled pork, brisket, and burgers.]

The address for the new Red-Eyed Pig in West Roxbury is: Red-Eyed Pig, 1753 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA, 02132.

Thanks to a poster on the Chowhound site for bringing this to our attention.
