An landmark Italian restaurant that is located just north of Boston is going to be closing its doors after nearly four decades in business.
According a November 30 article in the Revere Journal, Maggio's Restaurant in Revere will be shutting down on December 31. The article mentions that the husband and wife who own the Revere Street restaurant have decided to retire after running the spot for 38 years, with an ad in the newspaper stating that they will be looking forward to seeing more of their family as well as spending more time in Florida.
Maggio's is known in part for their stuffed calamari, buying about 15,000 pounds of the food item per year, according to the Journal. The restaurant also features pasta dishes, pizza, and stromboli, as well as steak, chicken, veal, and seafood items.
The address for this soon-to-close Italian eatery in Revere is: Maggio's, 306 Revere Street, Revere, MA, 02151.
