A soup-based event returns to a non-profit restaurant in the Dudley Square section of Roxbury this weekend.
According to Brown Paper Tickets and Eater Boston, Souper Bowl IV will be held this Sunday (February 12) starting at 2:00 PM at the Haley House Bakery Cafe on Dade Street. The event, which is a fundraiser for the Haley House Soup Kitchen, will feature area chefs making an array of soups using locally-sourced ingredients. Last year, some of the soups offered included garlic potato, chicken and cilantro, roasted winter squash, and clam and monkfish stew. Guests of the event will receive a handcrafted ceramic bowl made by MassArt students who are participating in the Clay for Change program (which helps raise money for those in need of food), then they will be able to go from station to station to sample the soups. Admission will occur at 15-minute intervals, with tickets costing $30 each.
The Haley House Bakery Cafe is located at the corner of Dade Street and Washington Street on the eastern edge of Dudley Square. Their website can be found at http://www.haleyhouse.org/bakery_cafe
