Update: Tomorrow's Hearing for Villa Mexico Has Been Canceled

[Ed note: This article was quickly updated due to some recent news just after it was posted. Thanks to Adam's Hospitality & Tourism Industry Blog for bringing this to our attention.]

A Mexican restaurant in Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood is losing its home within a Cambridge Street Gas Station, and tomorrow there was supposed to be a Zoning Board of Appeal hearing at City Hall in the hopes that the dining spot would be able to move to a nearby space. The hearing, however, has been canceled, with a note from the restaurant stating that "we were notified of a letter sent by the building owner [abutters] on Grove Street shared with the Zoning Board. In it, they are asking for a dialogue so that we can reach a good neighbor agreement in regard to our move." The note goes on to say that "there is NO hearing for Villa Mexico Cafe tomorrow. We will defer, in the hopes of reaching a consensus with our community."

As soon as we receive more information from Villa Mexico, we will post another update here, but to repeat, there is no hearing on this issue at City Hall tomorrow morning.
