The Jamaica Plain Gazette is reporting that Centre Street Sanctuary is looking to open on the Blessed Sacrament campus, which is where a Catholic church had been until closing eight years ago. The article states that the eatery will be an "American-style bistro with a little bit of twist," with vegetarian and gluten-free options, a number of wines offered, and the possibility of outdoor dining, pending the necessary permits needed for it.
The past few years have seen some development to the campus where the Catholic church had been, including the addition of retail space and affordable housing.
It looks like Centre Street Sanctuary could be open by October 1, according to the Gazette.
[May 24, 2013 update: UrbanDaddy states that Centre Street Sanctuary is planning to open on Tuesday (May 28).]
The address for this upcoming restaurant in Jamaica Plain is: Centre Street Sanctuary, 365 Centre Street, Boston, MA, 02130.
Thanks to Grub Street Boston for bringing this to our attention.
