Pret a Manger Is Opening Another Shop in Boston's Back Bay

A London-based chain of sandwich shops that opened a couple of locations in Boston last fall is planning to open a third outlet within the city, moving into the space where an outdoors store currently resides.

The Boston Business Journal is reporting that Pret a Manger is looking to open a second Back Bay store, with this one taking over the Eastern Mountain Sports space (the BBJ says that this location of EMS is going to be closing). Plans are still in their early stages, with a Boston Licensing Board hearing taking place next week to discuss the proposal, and a zoning change would be necessary in order for the space to be occupied by the eatery.

[September 24 update: Eater Boston states that the new Pret a Manger in the Back Bay is on track to open next Monday (September 30).]

[September 27 update: The new Pret a Manger is still looking to open on Monday, but in the meantime the shop is offering free lunches today (while supplies last, and you need to order breakfast or coffee there this morning)--complete details can be found at this link from BostInno.]

[September 29 update: According to its website, the new Pret a Manger at 855 Boylston Street is now open.]

Currently, another Back Bay location of Pret a Manger can be found in the old Borders space on Boylston Street, as well as a shop on Franklin Street in the Financial District.

The address for this new sandwich shop is 855 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02116. The website for the chain's website can be found at http://www.pret.com/us/

Thanks to Eater Boston for bringing this to our attention.
