The Burlington Patch is reporting that the group behind a couple of local eateries and a catering company is opening The Bancroft, which will be located at 3rd Ave--a retail area that will be in the middle of the Northwest Park development--just north of the Burlington Mall. According to the article, the 8,500-square-foot restaurant will be a farm-to-table spot with "seasonal, locally-sourced menu options" and it will be looking to attract a "youthful, urban crowd." The Webber Restaurant Group (Gibbet Hill Grill in Groton, Scarlet Oak Tavern in Hingham, Fireside Catering in Burlington) will be running The Bancroft, with ingredients apparently coming from the 100-acre Gibbet Hill Farm.
3rd Ave will include a "restaurant row" of sorts once the complex opens, with an array of non-chain eateries on the way.
There isn't a specific opening date for The Bancroft as of yet, as Northwest Park still has a ways to go before construction is complete. (Keep checking back for updates.)
