Met Restaurant Group to Open Saltie Girl in Boston's Back Bay

The group behind several upscale restaurants in the Boston area is planning to open a brand new spot in one of the busiest parts of the city.

According to an article in BostInno, the Met Restaurant Group is opening a new restaurant concept on Dartmouth Street, with Met owner Kathy Sidell saying that the eatery will be like "nothing we have done thus far." The article mentions that if all goes as planned, expect to see the as-of-yet unnamed dining spot to open sometime in the spring of 2015.

[March 2, 2015 update: The Boston Globe reports that the new dining spot from the Met Restaurant Group will be called Saltie Girl and that it will be located next door to the Met on Dartmouth Street, taking over the Townhouse space (Townhouse has been used for private events). The article says that the restaurant--which is expected to open in July--will focus on seafood inspired by the foods of Barcelona.]

[April 15, 2016 update: It looks like Saltie Girl may finally be getting close to debuting in the Back Bay, as a Craigslist job post shows that it is now hiring bartenders and servers.]

Currently, the restaurant group runs Met locations in Boston's Back Bay, Dedham, Natick, and Nantucket, along with another in Bethesda, MD. (Ed note: The Metropolitan Club in Chestnut Hill has closed.)
