Scissors and Pie in Boston's Back Bay Has Apparently Closed

A pizzeria in the Back Bay of Boston that had a unique way of pricing their pizza appears to be closed.

According to a poster on the Chowhound site, Scissors & Pie on Newbury Street is shuttered, with what looks to be a "For Rent" sign out front. A phone call placed to the shop goes to a voicemail that says the eatery will be closed for Memorial Day weekend (which was last month) and Eater Boston notes that a Yelp poster also believes it is no longer in operation. (In addition, its Twitter page--which had regular posts, often once a day or more--has not been updated since May 23.) It is not known for sure whether this is a permanent or temporary closure for Scissors & Pie, though as Eater points out, the dining spot had been looking to expand as recently as last month.

Scissors & Pie, which first opened in the winter of 2014, charged by weight rather than by the slice or the pie, and its pizza squares were cut using scissors.

The address for this now-closed pizza shop in the Back Bay was: Scissors & Pie, 225 Newbury Street, Boston, MA, 02116.
