Eater Boston is reporting (via Jamaica Plain News) that Frank DePasquale is involved with the opening of Il Panino Express on South Street in Jamaica Plain, with the owner of the upcoming spot--Lakis Vlahoulis--thanking the restaurateur, saying that "without your help and guidance, this wouldn't have happened." Vlahoulis is also behind Il Panino Cafe and Grill, which is located on nearby Centre Street and is more of a sitdown place while the upcoming Il Panino Express will focus on takeout, including pizzas, calzones, and salads.
A location of Il Panino Express used to be in Boston's North End, but it was replaced by another Frank DePasquale eatery called Ristorante Quattro a couple of years ago; other restaurants from DePasquale include a sitdown location of Il Panino in the North End along with such places as Bricco, Gelateria, and Mare.
The address for the upcoming location of Il Panino Express is 172 South Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130.
