Kitchen in Boston's South End Morphs into a New England Seafood Restaurant

A South End restaurant that has been known for its "historically-inspired" American fare has changed its concept.

According to an email sent today, Kitchen on Tremont Street is now a "New England seafood restaurant," with items on the menu including Portuguese fisherman stew, fried oysters, crab cakes, a fried haddock sandwich, mustard-crusted bluefish, lobster casserole, pan-seared scallops, and horseradish-crusted cod, with a few non-seafood items as well (burgers, short ribs, roasted chicken). The restaurant first opened in June of 2012, featuring dishes that were based on recipes from a huge collection of old cookbooks.

The people behind Kitchen also run Grotto in Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood and Marliave near Downtown Crossing.

The address for Kitchen is 560 Tremont Street, Boston, MA, 02118. Its website can be found at http://www.kitchenbostonmass.com/
