Mr. B's Pizza in Somerville Seeking Permission for a 4:00 AM Closing Time

A late-night pizza spot in Somerville is looking to stay open even later in order to remain in business.

The Somerville Journal is reporting that Mr. B's Pizza on Cross Street in the East Somerville/Prospect Hill area of the city is applying for a license to stay open until 4:00 AM for deliveries only, which would be two hours later than its current closing time of 2:00 AM. The article indicates that the owner of the pizzeria needs these extra two hours, with Mehmet Bakirci saying that "If they don’t give me an extension I’ll have to close down the business." Currently, Mr. B's is open for breakfast and lunch from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM and for dinner from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM (with the place doing deliveries only from midnight to 2:00 AM), though Bakirci states that "Daytime is doing nothing here, almost nothing."

The address for this pizza spot in Somerville is: Mr. B's Pizza, 142 Cross Street, Somerville, MA, 02145. Its website is at http://www.mrbpizza.com/
