Pepe's Pizza Eyeing Several Boston-Area Communities for Upcoming Locations

Several months ago, we mentioned that a legendary pizzeria was looking into opening not just one, but several locations in the Greater Boston area. Now we have learned of a few of the communities in which they may be looking.

Boston Magazine is reporting that the family behind Pepe's Pizza is considering opening shops in such places as Braintree, Burlington, Cambridge's Harvard Square, Dedham, Framingham, and Natick, along with somewhere on the North Shore, with Pepe's site development lead Jeff Fields saying that the city of Boston itself could see one at some point as well. According to Fields, the Boston area could eventually have five locations of the pizzeria, including the Chestnut Hill shop that will be the region's first (and which opens this Wednesday), though no other locations have been finalized and Fields notes that the company tends to move slowly on new openings, so it could be awhile before a second location comes to the region.

Pepe's started out in New Haven in 1925 and has received countless accolades for its coal-fired pizza over the years, including The Daily Meal, which has awarded it best pizza in America three years in a row now. The website for Pepe's can be found at http://www.pepespizzeria.com/
