Pelekasis Opens within Wink and Nod Space in Boston's South End

A Greek pop-up restaurant has come to the South End, replacing an Asian dining spot that is moving into a permanent home next door.

According to owner Brendan Pelley, Pelekasis opens tonight within the Wink & Nod space on Appleton Street, confirming what Zagat said yesterday. An earlier Boston Magazine article includes an opening menu for the place, with such items as sundried tomato fritters, wild boar keftedes, one hundred layer spanakopita, pork belly souvlaki gyro, grilled lamb sirloin, pistachio baklava, and more, with the menu broken down into small, medium, and large plates.

Pelley tells us that Pelekasis is a "semi-permanent" restaurant that will be open for at least six months; the previous pop-up in the space--Akinto--wrapped up operations on January 2 as it prepares to move into the adjacent Merrill & Co. space as a permanent restaurant.

The address for Pelekasis/Wink & Nod is 3 Appleton Street, Boston, MA, 02116. The website for Pelekasis can be found at http://www.pelekasisboston.com/
