World of Beer to Open in California Pizza Kitchen Space at CambridgeSide Galleria in East Cambridge

Last summer, we reported that a Florida-based chain of beer bars was making another run at coming to the Boston area, two years after initial plans for them to open in another location fell through. Now we have learned where exactly they will be opening this time around.

BostInno is reporting that World of Beer is looking to open at the CambridgeSide Galleria in East Cambridge, with Eater Boston stating that it will be coming to the space where a location of California Pizza Kitchen had been until recently closing. According to BostInno, the new dining and drinking spot will have 60 beers on tap and more than 500 other options available in bottles and cans, and that they will be offering "tavern fare" to go with the beer.

Back in 2013, the chain mentioned that they had plans to open in Somerville's Davis Square, but those plans never materialized and they announced in 2015 that they would be looking once again to open in the region, though at the time there was no word on where they might open.

Eater Boston says that the new World of Beer could be opening in Cambridge sometime this summer if all goes as planned.

[May 23 update: A Facebook post from the place indicates that World of Beer is "putting all the final touches" on its new location in Cambridge and is currently hiring for a variety of job positions. An earlier post had said that they were hoping to open in June, but no specific opening date has been given as of yet.]

[June 29 update: Eater Boston mentions that World of Beer plans to open in Cambridge on July 11.]

[July 15 update: According to an article from boston.com, World of Beer is now open in Cambridge.]
