Square Market in Brookline's Washington Square Has Closed

A market and convenience store in Brookline has shut its doors after being in business for only about a half year.

A message sent from a source confirms what a Twitter poster said last month, that Square Market in the Washington Square area is no longer business, having closed a few days ago. A couple of sources mention that the closure of the Beacon Street shop may stem from a sharp rent increase, though this has not been completely confirmed as of yet.

Square Market first opened its doors last summer, taking over the space where a 7-Eleven had been; it offered sandwiches and coffee in addition to convenience store items.

The address for the now-closed Square Market in Washington Square was 1633 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA, 02445.
