Local 149 in South Boston Reopens After Repairing Flood Damage

An upscale restaurant and bar in South Boston that was hit by flooding more than two months ago has reopened.

According to a Facebook post from the place, Local 149 opened its doors yesterday afternoon for the first time since a burst sprinkler pipe in the apartment above forced it to close in late January. After the flooding took place, the people behind the P Street spot had to allow the place to fully dry before figuring out the exact extent of the damage, while inspectional services shut down the entire building to make sure it was safe.

Local 149 is run by The Neighborhood Restaurant Group, which is also behind The Biltmore in Newton, Biltmore & Main in Reading, and the upcoming Article 24 in Brighton.

The address for Local 149 is 149 P Street, South Boston, MA 02127. Its website is at http://local149.com/
