A new Italian restaurant is on its way to the Seaport District of Boston, and it will be replacing another Italian eatery.
According to a job post within the bostonchefs.com site, Sapore Ristorante & Bar is planning to open within the Renaissance Boston Waterfront hotel on Congress Street, which is currently home to M.C. Spiedo. A check on the hotel's website includes information on Sapore, and when the link for Sapore is clicked, it goes to the M.C. Spiedo site. The listing for Sapore says that it will feature "modern interpretations of the classic rustic flavors of Italy with a focus on indigenous and seasonal ingredients of New England."
Mark Gaier and Clark Frasier (MC Perkins Cove and the now-closed Arrows in Ogunquit Maine) opened M.C. Spiedo in February of 2014, taking over the former 606 Congress space.
The address for Sapore Ristorante & Bar (and Renaissance Boston Waterfront hotel) is 606 Congress Street, Boston, MA, 02210.
[June 8 update: Eater Boston states that Sapore Ristorante & Bar is now open.]
