Masa Taqueria and Tequila Bar in Woburn Is Being Sold; New Restaurant to Replace It

The sister restaurant of a popular tapas and tequila bar in Boston's South End is closing and will become home to a brand new eatery.

According to a press release, Masa Taqueria and Tequila Bar in Woburn is in the process of being sold and its last day in operation will be Mother's Day (Sunday, May 8), with an "established, well-respected restaurant group" taking over the space and opening a new dining spot within the space. The original Masa on Tremont Street will remain in operation, and all gift certificates for the Woburn location of Masa will be honored there.

The Woburn location of Masa first opened in 2008 as Masa Southwestern Grill, changing over to Masa Taqueria and Tequila Bar in the fall of 2015; the South End location of Masa has been in business since 1998.

The address for the soon-to-close Masa Taqueria and Tequila Bar is 350 Cambridge Road, Woburn, MA, 01801. The website for the original location of Masa can be found at http://www.masarestaurant.com/
