Anoush'Ella: Saj Kitchen Is Opening in Boston's South End

It looks like a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern dining spot is on its way to the South End of Boston.

The Boston Hospitality and Tourism Industry blog is reporting that Anoush'Ella: Saj Kitchen is planning to open on W Newton Street in what appears to be the former Pathways To Wellness space at the corner of Washington Street. A post in The Boston Sun indicates that the eatery would be a quick-casual spot that offers Eastern Mediterranean fare including breads made on a saj (a type of rounded grill) that have a variety of ingredients added to create a type of pita sandwich. The eatery also hopes to have a yogurt bar that will offer labne, or strained yogurt with toppings added, and the place plans to serve beer and wine.

Based on the name of the restaurant and the use of the saj, it appears that Anoush'Ella may have Lebanese influences, though a specific cuisine has not been mentioned as of yet.

The address for this new dining spot in the South End is: Anoush'Ella: Saj Kitchen, 35 W Newton Street, Boston, MA, 02118.

[April 6, 2017 update: According to a press release, Anoush'Ella: Saj Kitchen plans to open this spring, and its menu will feature a mix of Lebanese and Armenian dishes along with other Eastern Mediterranean influences. The restaurant will have seating for approximately 55 and will include a communal table, a bar, and outdoor seating during the warmer months.]

[September 8, 2017 update: According to a source, Anoush'Ella is now open, with an Instagram post seeming to confirm this.]
