Papagayo in Saugus Has Closed

A local group of Mexican restaurants has gotten just a bit smaller.

Last week, a tweet from @James13rown indicated that Papagayo on Route 1 in Saugus may have closed, with @CappyinBoston confirming it today, saying that a "For Lease" sign is now shown at the site. A check on the Papagayo website gives further confirmation of this, as the Saugus location has been removed from the site, while locations in Boston's Fort Point, Downtown Crossing, and Somerville's Assembly Row remain in operation.

The Saugus location of Papagayo first opened in June of 2015, and it was actually considered more of a move from City Square in Charlestown rather then a brand new location.

The address for this now-closed Mexican restaurant in Saugus was: Papagayo, 817 Broadway (Route 1), Saugus, MA, 01906. The website for the other locations can be found at http://papagayorestaurants.com/
