Hakata Ramen Is Opening in Boston's Fenway/Back Bay Area

It looks like a ramen place in Quincy will be expanding to Boston.

According to a tweet from Drew Starr, a sign is up for Hakata Ramen in the former Chutney's space on Mass. Ave. near where the Fenway and the Back Bay meet (Chutney's has since moved a few blocks south). Based on the name and the look of the sign, it appears that this will be a new location of Hakata Ramen on Hancock Street in Quincy's Wollaston neighborhood. It is not yet known when the new dining spot might open, so stay tuned for updates.

The original Hakata Ramen in Quincy is known for its ramen options along with yakitori, sushi, teriyaki, curry dishes, tempura, and sushi burritos.

The address for this new ramen shop in the Back Bay/Fenway area is: Hakata Ramen, 173 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA, 02115. The website for the original location in Quincy can be found at http://www.hakataramenjapanese.com/

[May 28 update: The new location of Hakata Ramen in Boston could be one step closer to opening by this week, as a hearing on its request for a common victualler license will take place on Thursday, June 1.]

[June 21 update: A Facebook post from Drew Starr indicates that Hakata Ramen is now open in Boston.]
