Rogue Lounge Moving into The North Star Space Near Boston's North Station

It looks like a new dining/drinking spot will be taking over a space near North Station where a sports bar currently resides.

According to a source in the media, The North Star on Friend Street is petitioning to transfer its license to a new spot called Rogue Lounge, which will open at the same address. Little other information has been given about the proposed place, so keep checking back for updates.

The North Star first opened in September of 2010, taking over the space where DJ's at the Garden had been. The restaurant and bar is known for its classic American fare along with its variety of beer, wine, and cocktails.

The address for The North Star (and the new Rogue Lounge) is 222 Friend Street, Boston, MA, 02114. The website for The North Star can be found at http://northstarboston.com/

[March 23 update: Universal Hub mentions that Rogue would be a "calmer" and more "professional" spot that would apparently cater to those moving into the new residences in the North Station area. (The city is expected to make a decision on the place today.)]

[June 1 update: According to a note from the Corbett Restaurant Group, The North Star was sold yesterday and the owner listed for the new place is Anthony DePinto, who is also one of the owners of MAST' in downtown Boston.]

[August 4 update: A press release indicates that Rogue Lounge will focus on dishes with Asian and American influences, while also offering 20 beers on tap and a list of "creative" cocktails. As mentioned earlier, Anthony DePinto is one of the partners, while Michael DeSousa and Timothy Bartolomeu, who come from Stanza Cigar Bar in the North End, and Kevin Ye, who is behind a number of Asian restaurants north of Boston, are behind the place as well.]

[November 16 update: Eater Boston states that Rogue Lounge is now open, and that it serves such items as sushi pizza, bourbon beef, and ramen.]
