A chef and restaurateur whose previous two dining spots were located in Salem is involved in the opening of a new restaurant in Peabody--and the people who run two Danvers eateries are behind the place.
According to a source, Tony Bettencourt of the now-closed 62 Restaurant & Wine Bar and A Mano is one of the people involved in the opening of Alto Forno (it appears that he is heading up the kitchen), which a Craigslist job post says will be an upscale fine dining spot with a wood burning oven and handmade pasta. A source tells us that the owners are the same people who run Pellana and Daniella's, both of which are located in Danvers.
62 Restaurant & Wine Bar closed in the fall of 2015, with A Mano taking over the space for approximately a year before it closed as well.
The address for Alto Forno will be 41 Cross Street in Peabody. Its website can be found at http://www.altoforno.com/
[June 10 update: A Facebook post indicates that Alto Forno is now open.]
