The Smoke Shop BBQ Is Opening in Former Tavern Road Space in Boston's Fort Point

A few weeks ago, we received word that a popular barbecue spot in Cambridge was going to be moving into a space in Boston where another restaurant was, and now this has been confirmed.

According to an article in Boston Magazine, The Smoke Shop BBQ in Kendall Square is expanding to a second location in Fort Point, taking over the former Tavern Road space on Congress Street. The post says that the new location of the restaurant will have a main area along with a side dining section (where TR Street Food had been), and takeout will also be offered. If all goes as planned, The Smoke Shop could be up and running in Fort Point sometime in November, and as mentioned here earlier, it appears that a third location may be on its way to Somerville's Assembly Row, though Andy Husbands--who is behind The Smoke Shop--will not confirm (nor deny) that this is indeed happening.

Tavern Road shut down last month after being in business for four years.

The address for the new Smoke Shop BBQ in Boston's Fort Point is 343 Congress Street, Boston, MA, 02210. The website can be found at http://www.thesmokeshopbbq.com/

[November 28 update: Boston Magazine states that The Smoke Shop opens tomorrow (Wednesday, November 29).]
