A local chain of Italian dining spots is closing its location in downtown Boston.
According to a Twitter post from @kenjimallon, Bertucci's at Faneuil Hall is shutting down, with a message from the chain confirming this, saying that today is its last day in business. The message mentions that the closing is a business decision, as they were not able to come to terms on their lease. It appears that all other locations of Bertucci's will remain in operation, including its outlets located within the Boston city limits in Kenmore Square, the Longwood medical area, and in West Roxbury along with a number of others in the surrounding area.
Bertucci's, which first started out in 1981, opened its Faneuil Hall location in 1989 according to the message sent to us; the chain focuses mainly on brick-oven pizza and Italian dishes.
The address for Bertucci's in Faneuil Hall is 22 Merchants Row, Boston, MA, 02109. The website for the chain can be found at http://www.bertuccis.com/
