Rewild to Open in Quincy Center

by Marc Hurwitz

A new beer hall and cafe is coming to a downtown area just south of Boston that is going through major development, and it is the first of its kind in New England--and possibly the entire country.

According to a source, Rewild is planning to open in Quincy Center--tentatively in the former Iron Furnace space--with its website saying that the Hancock Street spot will be "America's first fully plant-based beer hall & cafe" though it does appear that a few other spots that focus on vegan foods and beer do exist around the United States. The dining and drinking place includes business partners who have been involved with Barrel House Z brewery and taproom in Weymouth and by CHLOE (a fast-casual vegan eatery) in Boston's Seaport District.

If all goes as planned, Rewild could open its doors sometime this spring.

The website for this upcoming vegan beer hall and cafe is at https://eatrewild.com

[July 5 update: A note sent by City of Quincy consultant and publicist Kerry J. Byrne indicates that Rewild will actually be opening in the old Fuji space at 1546 Hancock Street and that it hopes to debut sometime in August.]

[September 25 update: Kerry Byrne tells us that Rewild plans to open on Saturday, October 6.]

[September 27 update: Boston Magazine states that Rewild's home is actually only temporary, as they will be moving into a permanent home within the next few years. In addition, the cafe and restaurant will be open daily, while the beer hall section will only be open on weekends apparently until it moves into its permanent space.]
