Southern Kin Cookhouse to Open Second Location

by Marc Hurwitz

A Southern-style restaurant located at a growing development in Somerville is going to be joined by a second outlet, though very little information has been given as of yet.

According to a press release, a second location of Southern Kin Cookhouse is on the way, joining the original one at Assembly Row and being part of some changes being made by parent company Boston Nightlife Ventures (BNV), which recently closed The Tap Trailhouse near Faneuil Hall in downtown Boston and is also getting ready to open Akinto, a former pop-up spot featuring Southeast Asian fare that is coming to a permanent location in the South End. BNV also runs Certified Meatball Company in South Boston and Griddler's Burgers &amp Dogs by Boston Common, and it operates Wink & Nod, a space in the South End that has featured a line of rotating dining spots, including the aforementioned Akinto.

As soon as we find out where (and when) the second location of Southern Kin Cookhouse might open, we will post an update here.

The website for the original Southern Kin can be found at http://southernkincookhouse.com/
