It looks like an Italian seafood restaurant on Cape Ann is expanding to a second space that is much closer to Boston.
According to an article from the Wakefield Daily Item, Tonno is planning to open in Wakefield, moving into a space at Wakefield Station on North Avenue between West Water Street and Armory Street. The post says that the new dining spot will have seating for as many as 215 including outdoor seating on a seasonal patio, and that based on a press release that just came out, it looks like it will be open for dinner daily, with a Sunday brunch possibly being offered as well, and that beer, wine, and cocktails will be offered along with a variety of Italian dishes.
Anthony Caturano of Prezza in Boston's North End opened the original location of Tonno on Main Street in Gloucester in June of 2016; the menu includes such items as oysters, cherrystones, crab cakes, spaghetti fra diavolo, fish stew, grilled swordfish, grilled pork chop, and veal milanese. The website for Tonno can be found at https://www.tonnorestaurant.com/
Thanks to The Passionate Foodie for initially bringing this to our attention.
[July 16 update: A Facebook post from the place indicates that Tonno opens in Wakefield on July 26.]
