Johnny's Takeaway Opens in West Roxbury

by Marc Hurwitz

A new "chef-inspired" takeout place has come to a Boston neighborhood, and the person behind it comes from some well-known dining and drinking spots.

According to a source, Johnny's Takeaway is now open in West Roxbury, with owner Johnny Burke formerly working at such places as The Butcher Shop in the South End and the now-closed T.W. Food and Belly Wine Bar, both of which were located in Cambridge. The website for the takeout spot indicates that it focuses on healthy and wholesome "restaurant quality" meals for "weeknight family & personal dinners" and that the menus are created on a weekly basis. Options at Johnny's Takeaway include soups, salads, and sides, with the initial menu showing such daily meal specials as pan-seared Atlantic salmon, Spanish chicken meatballs, fried chicken, a shrimp and soba noodle bowl, marinated tri tip steak, roasted pork loin, and turkey and zucchini burgers.

The address for this new takeout spot in West Roxbury is: Johnny's Takeaway, 168 Spring Street, West Roxbury, MA, 02132. Its website can be found at https://www.johnnystakeaway.com/
