Early last year it was learned that the person behind a growing group of Mexican restaurants was taking over a burger spot, and now that it is close to opening, a new name has been given to the place.
According to an Instagram post, Grass Fed in Jamaica Plain is becoming The Joint, and based on earlier information it appears that the Centre Street restaurant will still focus on burgers. As mentioned before, Socrates Abreu of Chilacates is behind the new eatery, with that restaurant having locations in Jamaica Plain (two), Mission Hill, Chestnut Hill, and an upcoming outlet in Roslindale. (There is no opening date as of yet for The Joint so keep checking back for updates.)
Grass Fed closed for renovations last summer after being in business for approximately six years; another location of the restaurant had been in nearby Forest Hills but that one is no longer in operation.
The address for The Joint is 605 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130.
[May 21 update: A Facebook post indicates that The Joint soft-opened this weekend.]
