A new restaurant is on its way to a waterside location on the North Shore, and one of the people behind it runs a Greek eatery a few miles to the south.
According to an article from The Daily Item, George Markos of Brother's Deli in Lynn and three partners--Larry Dunn and Paul Broderick, and Caroline Broderick--plan to open Markos Taverna in Salem, moving into the space on Pickering Wharf where Finz Seafood & Grill had been until it moved to the old Victoria Station space on the wharf last September. The post says that the upcoming restaurant will be a Mediterranean steakhouse with two bars, seating for 270 in its dining area, a patio, and eventually, an upstairs lounge. If all goes well, Markos Taverna could be opening around June 15.
The address for this new dining spot in Salem is: Markos Taverna, 76 Wharf Street, Salem, MA, 01970. Its website can be found at https://www.markostaverna.com/
[August 2 update: The website for the restaurant indicates that Markos Taverna is now open, with its Facebook page showing that it offers Greek and other Mediterranean fare.]
