A local group of Mexican restaurants is closing one of its locations, and another dining spot will be moving into its space.
According to an article in the Patch, El Centro in Brookline Village is shutting down, with chef/owner Allan Rodriguez indicating that he has outgrown the Washington Street space. The article says that the restaurant will may in about a month, and that a Thai eatery called Mahaniyom will be taking over the space. Locations of El Centro in Boston's South End, Belmont, and Dedham will remain in operation.
The Brookline location of El Centro first opened in 2013, two years after the first location in the South End debuted.
The address for El Centro (and Mahaniyom) in Brookline Village is 236 Washington Street, Brookline, MA, 02445. The website for all locations can be found at https://www.elcentroinboston.com/
