Shah's Halal Is Opening in Boston's Fenway/Back Bay Area

It looks like a growing group of Middle Eastern restaurants with locations in and around New York City is on its way to Boston.

According to a source (Geoff Wong), Shah's Halal is planning to open on Boylston Street near where the Fenway and the Back Bay meet, with the address indicating that it may be moving into the space where Crazy Dough's Pizza had been. Based on the menus at the other locations of Shah's Halal, the new outlet in Boston could offer such options as gyros, various items over rice (including chicken, lamb, falafel, fish, and kofta kebabs), salads, sandwiches, pita with hummus, baklava, and more, using 100% certified halal products.

Shah's first started out as a food cart in Queens in 2005 and now has a handful of brick-and-mortar locations in Queens, Long Island, and north of New York City.

The address for this new Middle Eastern restaurant in the Fenway/Back Bay area of Boston is: Shah's Halal, 1124 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02215. The website for all of the locations can be found at https://www.shahshalalfood.com/

[January 21, 2020 update: The Boston location of Shah's Halal could be one step closer to opening by later this week, as a licensing board hearing page indicates that the city is expected to look into its request for a common victualler license on January 22.]

[February 3, 2020 update: Eater Boston mentions that Shah's Halal opens its Boston location on Friday, February 7.]
