Deja Brew Is Replacing Cranberry Cafe in South Boston

A longtime dining spot in South Boston that was known for its breakfast and lunch items has shut down, though a new spot under the same ownership will open in its place.

According to a tweet from @chipsy231, Cranberry Cafe on E Broadway closed at the end of business hours yesterday, with a note out front saying that Deja Brew will open in its space in early September, and that it will be under the same management. Cranberry Cafe, which opened 23 years ago, offered such items as bagels, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, omelettes, French toast, muffins, soups, salads, smoothies, coffee, and more.

The address for the now-closed Cranberry Cafe (and new Deja Brew) is 704 E Broadway, South Boston, MA, 02127.

[October 28 update: Caught in Southie states that Deja Brew is now open in the former Cranberry Cafe space.]
