A favorite spot for comfort food and beer has shut down for the time being, as it is leaving its home for a new space nearby.
According to a Facebook post from the place, The Fat Cat in Quincy shuttered last night and is now getting ready to move from its former home at 24 Chestnut Street to a new space at 1495 Hancock Street, which is where Iron Furnace had been until closing a couple of years ago. The note says that the restaurant hopes to reopen in mid-August and that it will "have all sorts of new tricks, drinks and menu items coming your way."
The Fat Cat has been featured by our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) as an under-the-radar gastropub-type place with such dishes as fried pickles, macaroni and cheese, and burgers. The review can be found at the link below:
