Corazon de Frida Mexican Cantina Is Opening in the Ginger Exchange Space in Cambridge's Inman Square

A brand new Mexican restaurant could be on its way to Cambridge, and it may be taking over the space where an Asian fusion spot currently resides.

According to a license commission page within the city's website, Corazon de Frida Mexican Cantina is looking to open in Inman Square, with a liquor license transfer from Ginger Exchange being looked at this week. The proposed Mexican eatery, which would apparently be replacing Ginger Exchange, looks like it would have at least a loose connection to a few other dining spots in the region, as the proposed manager is Eric Brambila, who is behind Tequila's in Chelmsford and Wakefield along with Ixtapa Mexican Grill in Groton.

Ginger Exchange first opened in Inman Square in 2009; other locations of the restaurant can be found in the Symphony Hall area of Boston along with Boston's Mission Hill and Watertown.

The address for Corazon de Frida Mexican Cantina (and Ginger Exchange) is 1287 Cambridge St, Cambridge, MA 02139.

[November 19 update: According to a source, the Inman Square location of Ginger Exchange is now closed.]

[February 24, 2020 update: According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Corazon de Frida Mexican Cantina is now open in Inman Square.]
