Da LaPosta Pizzeria Is Coming to Former Bee's Knees Space in Boston's Fort Point

A new pizza spot could be on its way to a red-hot section of Boston, and it would be opening where a gourmet market had been.

According to a source, da LaPosta is planning to open in the city's Fort Point neighborhood, taking over a part of the old Bee's Knees space on Farnsworth Street. Our source indicates that a public meeting on the proposed pizzeria is slated for October 7 at the former Bee's Knees site and that the place is seeking a liquor license, though little other information has been given as of yet.

Bee's Knees shut down (and was seized by the state) around the beginning of 2017 and subsequently went up for auction; the market had also gone up for sale in late 2015 as well.

The address for the proposed da LaPosta is 12 Farnsworth Street, Boston, MA, 02210.

[October 7 update: Eater Boston mentions that the person behind da LaPosta is Mario LaPosta, who comes from the now-closed Babbo in the Seaport District and who has competed in the World Pizza Championship in Italy. The post says that the pizzeria, which will feature wood-fired pies, plans to open sometime in the spring of 2020.]

[December 18 update: A post within the jobs section of bostonchefs.com gives a bit more information on da LaPosta, mentioning that the pizzas will be created using a three-year-old starter along with local ingredients, and the menu will also include pastas and house-made gelato.]
