Menya Jiro May Be Opening at the Crimson Galeria in Cambridge's Harvard Square

An award-winning group of ramen spots based in Japan could be on its way to the local area.

Eater Boston is reporting (via Cambridge Day) that Menya Jiro is looking to open in Cambridge's Harvard Square, with the plan being to open in a space within the Crimson Galeria on JFK Street. If it gets approval to open, this would be the first Boston-area location of the eatery, and it would join three others in the United States, all of which are in New York City. (Menya Jiro could open in Harvard Square this winter or early in the spring.)

Menya Jiro, which has won a street ramen competition in New York twice, focuses on build-your-own ramen dishes, according to Eater.

The address for the proposed location of Menya Jiro at the Crimson Galeria is 57 JFK Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138. The website for the group of restaurants can be found at https://www.menyajiro-ny.com/

[February 12, 2020 update: A license commission page indicates that Menya Jiro could be one step closer to opening in Harvard Square by later today, as a hearing is slated to take place this evening on its request for a common victualler/beer and wine license.]
