It looks like a North End mainstay for seafood could be expanding to another location nearby.
The North End Waterfront site is reporting (via a meeting agenda notice from the North End/Waterfront Residents Association) that The Daily Catch is seeking to transfer its beer and wine license from the now-closed Seaport District outlet of the restaurant to the space on Atlantic Avenue in the North End that has been home to the Golden Goose Cafe and Kolbeh Mediterranean Cafe. The article indicates that the menu at the new place would be similar to that of the original Daily Catch on Hanover Street.
The Daily Catch, which first opened in the North End in 1973, currently has other locations in Brookline's Coolidge Corner as well as Woodstock, VT. At the time of its closure in the Seaport District last fall, the website for the business mentioned that they were going to be looking for a new home for that dining spot.
The address for The Daily Catch's proposed new restaurant in the North End is 65 Atlantic Avenue, Boston, MA, 02109. The website for all locations can be found at http://thedailycatch.com/
[November 8 update: The North End Waterfront site confirms that a new location of The Daily Catch is indeed planning to open in the Golden Goose Cafe/Kolbeh Mediterranean Cafe space, and it would include a bar along with an outdoor patio.]
[November 20 update: A new post from The North End Waterfront site indicates that the proposed Daily Catch outlet on Atlantic Avenue now has approval from both the North End / Waterfront Residents' Association (NEWRA) and the North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC), and if it gets approval next month from the city licensing board, the new restaurant could be opening sometime in early 2020.]
