A suburban Mexican restaurant has very quietly shut down after only a bit more than a year in business.
According to a source, La Tate Mexican Restaurant in West Newton has closed, with a "For Rent" sign now shown out front at the Washington Street space. Our source says that it appears the dining spot actually closed about a month ago, and it is not known for sure why the place shuttered.
La Tate first opened in the summer of 2018, taking over the space where Shing Yee had been for approximately 15 years.
The address for the now-closed La Tate Mexican Restaurant is 1255 Washington Street, West Newton, MA, 02465.
