A South Shore restaurant known in part for its Italian dishes is shutting down.
Wicked Local is reporting that Simply Smith's in Cohasset is getting ready to close, with chef Greg Smith indicating that the Pleasant Street eatery was having difficulty trying to get locals to come to the place. In the article, Smith says that "If you can't get your hometown people to support you, you're not going to make it....We've had people saying, 'We don’t know you're here.' We're just totally being ignored." Smith mentions that he and his girlfriend, Jean Sullivan (who is the owner of Simply Smith's) are planning to open another dining spot, but it will not be in Cohasset.
Simply Smith's first opened approximately three years ago, taking over the former Green Light juice shop space.
The address for the soon-to-close Simply Smith's is 1 Pleasant Street, Cohasset, MA, 02025. Its website can be found at http://www.simplysmithscatering.com/
[December 12 update: According to its Facebook page, Simply Smith's plans to close at the end of business hours on December 22.]
