An Italian restaurant on the North Shore has closed its doors for good.
According to a source, Caffe Paolina in Swampscott is no longer in business, with the Humphrey Street dining spot shuttering over the weekend. A Patch article confirms this, saying that the restaurant closed on Sunday, with a note on its website saying that "We are very grateful to everyone who has supported us....Thank you for your kind patronage and support to Caffe' Paolina in its past years of operation." The note also says what our source has told us, that a new restaurant will be moving in--and it will accept any gift certificates from Caffe Paolina that have not yet been used.
Caffe Paolina first opened 17 years ago, offering an array of Italian and Italian-American dishes.
The address for Caffe Paolina (and the upcoming restaurant taking over the space) is 646 Humphrey Street, Swampscott, MA, 01907.
